In 1995 till 1997 field trials was investigated effect of soil - climatic conditions of regions with different altitude, variety, year of cultivation and ecological way of cultivation on reducing sugar content (RS) in fresh tuber matter. From three yearsresults there was determinated significantly lower RS content in potatoes from drier and warmer low situated regions (0.44 %) in comparison with more humid and cooler traditional potato growing regions with higher altitudes in Czech Republic (0.56 %). Significant effect on RS content had variety. From four investigated varieties significantly differed Ornella and Agria varieties in lower RS content (0.26 % and 0.37 %, resp.) from Santé and Rosella varieties (0.61 % and 0.72 %, resp.). The greatest effect on RS content had the year of cultivation.
