Changes of botanical composition of grass stands under different ways of management
Original language description
Dry mass yield, the biomass composition and the stand coverage of Bromus catharticus Vahl. cv. Tacit, Arrhenatherum elatius /L./ P.Beauv. ex J.S. et K.B.Presl cv. Median, Festuca pratensis L. cv. Otava and Dactylis aschersoniana Graben cv. Tosca sown torows 125 mm in the year 1996 were measured in a field trial on the experimental field of the University of Agriculture in Prague (chernozem, 281 m above the sea level, average precipitation 472 mm per year, average year temperature 9,3°C). The stands were 1 or 3 times per year cut with the mass removing or 1 or 2 times mulched. Two times mulched stands produced the significantly highest yields of dry mass (5,35 t.ha-1), Arrhenatherum elatius had the highest yield capacity from all the grasses (dry massyield of the stand 4,79 t.ha-1, share of the sown species in the total yield on average 78%). Grasses dominance (D) oscillated in average from 43 to 67%. Bromus catharticus disappeared totally from the stand in the 5th year of vegetation (
