Original language description
Blending powder components into a homogeneous mixture is an essential step in pharmaceutical solid dosage forms production. Both the mixture homogeneity and the stability of achieved homogeneity level over time in process are crucial aspects governing the successful production of tablets with uniformly distributed active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). There is a strong relationship between the properties of a prospective mixture and its components and the behavior of the homogenization process. This work was aimed at describing the effects, which blender operating parameters and mixture properties have on the attainable mixture homogeneity and the rate of homogenization.
