Thermoplastic Vulcanizates Based on Polyethylene and Styrene-Butadiene Rubber. Part I: Theoretical Aspects

  • Original language description

The aim of our work is to create maximally cheap thermoplastic elastomer, at the same time possessing appropriate properties. First of all, price analysis has been performed. The cheapest variants of thermoplastic/elastomer blends are combinations polyethylene (PE)/styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and polypropylene (PP)/SBR. A study of thermodynamic aspects has showed potential supremacy of high-density polyethylene PE-HD/SBR blends over PP/SBR ones.
