Porperties and electrochemical hydriding of magnesiu-based alloys
Original language description
Nowadays, magnesium alloys are considered as perspective materials for reversible hydrogen storage in the form of metallic hydrides. Preparation of hydrides is usually carried out at high hydrogen pressures and high temperatures. Electrochemical hydriding from water solution seems to be more efficient. In this work, electrochemical hydriding of Mg-Ni-Mm-based alloys (Mm = mishmetal) were tested at different temperatures. Microstructures of particular alloys are described and the effects of temperature and alloying metals on ability of magnesium alloys of hydrogenation when using electrochemical method of saturation from water solution were evaulated. The kinetics of hydrogen desorption was also determined.
