    Characterisation of a prehistorical ceramic object - moon-shaped idol, by means of thermal analysis

  • Original language description

    The paper deals with the evaluation of the chemical and mineralogical composition, microstructure and surfacing of a unique archaeological ceramic finding - the moon-shaped idol from Přemyšlení dated to the Late Bronze Age. XRF, XRD, IR, RS and thermal analysis were used for the characterisation. It contained crystalline phases which are typical for low-firing ceramics, mainly quartz, feldspars, micas and clay minerals. It was proved that the central part of the object was exposed to higher temperaturecompared to border parts. Its surface was decorated on the borders by a graphite coating.
