Surface treatment of Ti BIO(R) substrate by glass, glass-ceramics and ceramic powder.

  • Original language description

Covering of an inert Ti substrate by the bioactive glass, glass-ceramics or ceramics layers combines advantages of both materials and speeds up the healing process. The goal of this work was to compare the ability of tested materials to form the HAp (hydroxyapatite) on the surface of Ti substrate (previously mechanically and chemically treated - named as Ti BIO, produced by LASAK Ltd. Company). The surface of Ti BIO substrate (which was taken also as the referent material) was covered by thin layers ofglasses, glass-ceramics and ceramics powders.
