    Alkali activation of non-cement slurry

  • Original language description

This paper focuses on the possibilities of improving properties of binders based on power plant calcium-sulphatefly ash. The production of these energy by-products is in millions of tonnes per year and mere storage is not a sustainablesolution. Alkaline activation of aluminosilicate substances is a complex process, the biggest consequences for concrete aref.e.: acceleration of hydration and formation of new hydration phases. Mortar used in this work is based on limestone-flyash mixture called SORFIX. This mixture shows some satisfactory results so far, even without any alkali activation. As analkalic activator the Sodium water glass was used. Optimal water to binder ratios were researched with reference tononactivated mixture.
