Fungal Biofilms: tailoring the performance of fungal biodegraders
Original language description
The cytotoxic and osmotic effects were studied comparing the sensitivity of suspended cells with that of artificial or natural biofilms, formed, respectively, by two eukaryotes: Candida maltosa and Fusarium proliferatum. The results obtained indicate anincreased resistance of attached cell populations to above stressors, optimizing the fungal cell capacity to degrade acetone, phenol, and p-cresol.
