Does zinc finger of nucleocapsid protein contribute to the assembly of Mason-Pfizer monkey virus immature capsid - sborník
Original language description
It has been shown in many reports that zinc finger domains of NC are responsible for specific incorporation of retroviral genomic RNA. Nowever, the role of NC in the assemlby of immature capsid remains controversial. We have used a bacterial expression/assembly system in order to investigate the requirement for specific domains within NC that contribute to this process in the context of sa capsid protein lacking the N-terminal proline. Progressive deletions showed that truncation of the C-terminal falfof NC did not prevent assembly of spherical particles.
