  • Original language description

    Proteolytic processing of immature retroviral particles leads to reorganization of their interior and formation of ribonucleoprotein core. The core condensation is dependent upon structural changes of capsid protein infduced by deliberation of its ter mini. In some retroviruses, as HIV and RSV, cleavage of a spacer peptide separating capsid and nucleocapsid proteins is essential for the core formation.
