Interactions between plant phospholipase D and cytoskeleton
Original language description
Introduction: Phospholipase D (PLD), which was identified as an ubiquitous microbial, plant and animal enzyme, plays an important role in numerous cellular processes. In plants, PLD has been proposed to participate in cellular events such as abscisic acid signalling, response to various biotic and abiotic stress cues, including water stress, wounding and pathogen attack. Recently Gardiner et al. (2001) reported that the microtubule-associated protein in Arabidopsis is one of plasma membrane-localized PLD. Our aim was to elucidate possible interaction between phospholipase D and cytoskeleton and its influence on the PLD activity.Materials and methods: For searches of genome data we used the BLAST tool-kit at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/BLAST). Multiple alignments were constructed using MACAW and ClustalX with PAM 120 or Blosum 30 protein alignment matrices, respectively. Tobaccos partial cDNAs were prepared using RT-PCR method from 5 da
