Isoflavones in non-leguminous plants: the Rutaceae and the Myrtaceae families
Original language description
Isoflavonoids (3-phenylchromones) are most abundant in the Fabaceae, however they were recorded in over 20 other families, dicotyledons as well as monocots. Molecular biology data indicate occurrence of genes for isoflavonoid metabolic pathway even in higher number of families (1), nevertheless it is difficult to obtain the evidence of their biochemical activity. In our recent work, we combine HPLC-MS and immunochemical approaches.
