A study on occurrence of a broad scope of mycotoxins in cereal-based infant and baby food was carried out. In total, 34 samples of baby´s biscuits and mush were analyzed for contamination with almost fifty different mycotoxins. An ultra-high-performanceliquid chromatography?tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC?MS/MS) method, enabling sensitive, reliable and fast determination of target mycotoxins was developed and validated for this purpose. Tested samples of infant and baby food were found to be positive for Fusarium mycotoxins (predominantly deoxynivalenol (DON), its metabolite DON-3-Glucoside (D3G), fumonisins and enniatins). It should be noted, that the concentrations of detected toxins did not exceeded hygienic limits established by the European Commission legislation.
