Removal of As(V) and Ni(II) from aqueous solution by nanoscale magnetic gama- Fe2O3

  • Original language description

In this study, Fe3O4 was synthesized and used as a magnetic adsorbent for As(V) and Ni(II) removal. The adsorbent has a average crystalline size of 14 nm, specific surface area of 84.7 m2/g. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm was found to be the best modelto describe the adsorption of As(V) and Ni(II) with adsorption capacities of 8.09 mg g-1 and 17.45 mg g-1, respectively. This result suggests that magnetic Fe2O3 adsorbent and magnetic separations offer a promising method for As(V) and Ni(II) removal inwater technology
