Amidation of oxidized cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose
Original language description
This work is focused on preparation of derivatives of oxidized cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose. Oxidized cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose itself can undergo further chemical modifications that may lead to obtaining of new perspective materials. The first step included preparation of methyl ester. Methyl ester was then amidated with using selected alkylamines, hydrazine hydrochloride and hydroxylamine hydrochloride under specific conditions. Another approach included one-step amidation of oxidized cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose with the same agents using microwave reactor. The rise of derivatives and all of changes in structure was monitored using infrared spectroscopy. Organic elementary analysis was used as the second method by monitoring of new derivatives. These new derivatives can be used in pharmaceutical industry as new products based on polysaccharides.
