Indoor contamination by organohalogen pollutants originated mainly from consumer products has been recognized as a an issue of concern. The indoor air and dust, in addition to food, are the major sources of exposure for the general population (specifically children), which can induce various adverse health effects. High production volume chemicals such as perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) and brominated flame retardants (BFRs), the latter represented mainly by polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs) and tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), are obviously the key sources of indoor pollution. The main aims of our study were to adopt an analytical procedure based on MSPD for the simultaneous analysis of BFRs and PFASs in dust (theamount of sample { 0.1 g) and to apply a newly developed multi-analyte method for the examination of real dust samples.
