    Excitable properties of selected biochemical reactions (calcium signaling) in one reaction compartment and in continuous reaction - transport environment exposed to periodic stimuli (pacemaker) are studied. Response of the systems is studied upon varyinga bifurcation parameter. Transitions from periodicity to quasiperiodicity and chaos are observed.
