Programmable Logic Controller as a Key Element in BIOGENES II Control System
Original language description
Biogenes II system was developed for the control of various bioprocesses carried out in laboratory bioreactor. This paper describes whole system structure and utilization of programmable logical controller (PLC) as a component of this control system, which carries out real-time control tasks. PLC Compact is connected to an analog control bioreactor unit IMCS 2000 and to other measuring and controlling devices. OPC server makes possible to visualize the process on any network computer. PLC is configuredand programmed using Concept development environment, which is very modern and powerful graphic tool. PLC configuration and control strategy divided into separated sections will be described in this paper as well.
