Some areas of chemical industry often use batch processes, and thanks to the nature of such processes, software tools for their development and simulation have been those for continuous processes. However, in recent years this begins to change, and one the newest products in this field is the BDK, Batch Design Kit, a tool for batch process developers. As it is a new product that uses some principles not common in older software, we would like to introduce it in this paper.
