Original language description

This paper deals with the modelling of cultivation of Penicillium chrysogenum for the production of penicillin. Models consider such aspects that are important for fed-batch mode of the fermentation process. The models for penicillin production are basedon mass balances of key state variables and growth kinetics of Penicillium chrysogenum. The influence of feeding strategies and the aspect of medium composition are discussed. Different models of penicillin fermentation process are compared.
