Application of dispersion model on flow mixers with liquid and solid-liquid systems
Original language description
Dispersion model is one of many potent models, in which it is possible to describe residence time distribution. Residence time distribution is studied in continuous flow vessels. The model is based on the "diffusion with bulk flow equation" solved with Danckwert's boundary equations for "closed system". Analytical solution by Fourier method contains input stimulus function as a function of time and the initial distribution of concentration inside the vessel. We can apply this model for the interpretation of obtained residence time distribution curves in complex experimental systems. Dispersion model was used for interpretation residence time distribution curves of liquid or solid in continuous stirred vessels. The dispersion model fits experimental response curves in both systems well.
