Study on three-phase continuous mixer
Original language description
One possible approach how to obtain information about the fluid flow in a real continuous stirred vessel is to find the distribution of residence times. The residence time distribution of liquid can be obtained by the "stimulus-response" technique. In the new method of evaluation it is also used the measurement of the stimulus function. Dispersion model is based on the "diffusion with bulk flow" equation, which is solved with the "closed" boundary conditions. General response function is derived on thebasis of the dispersion model. General relation includes the initial concentration distribution inside the mixer and the stimulus signal as a function of time.
