Physiological State Inferring Module of Baker's Yeast Cultures in Fed-Batch Cultivations
Original language description
This paper presents successful application of machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms in building up physiological state inferring module. The methodology is demonstrated and verified on data gathered during experimental cultivations of the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Only limited number of inexpensive, reliable and basic measurements is required to provide excellent classification of the physiological state of the cells. Proposed methodology is by no means limited to the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The proposed methodology may even be used by skilled domain experts to validate their experience and intuition and bring more insight and accuracy into the problem.
