Enzymatic micro-reactors-separators with electrical control of transport rates
Original language description
Micro-reactor-separator system constructed of a thin channel filled with an enzyme and micro-particulate solid adsorbent both immobilized in hydrophilic gel is studied by numerical simulations. Various enzyme reactions with different reaction kinetics are considered. The electro-osmotic flux and molecular diffusion are considered as mass transport processes in the gel and the electrophoretic migration is considered for charged species. The influence of some basic model parameters on the operational regimes of the micro-system is analyzed.
