    In this study we show the spontaneous emergence of pacemakers emitting waves in the spatially one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) model of an excitable medium if the second perturbation is applied in the wake of the passing wave. The three variable model based on the Martiel-Goldbeter kinetics of the production and consumption of cAMP (cyclic 3,5-adenosin monophosphate) in the layer of starving cells of the slime mold Dictyostelium discoideum is investigated. The spatial coupling is realized by the diffusion of cAMP in the space between cells. Thorough bifurcation analysis of the kinetic model and related numerical simulations of the spatially distributed systems showed that the parametric proximity of homoclinics to the excitable dynamics can be the prerequisite to the emergence of pacemakers emitting temporarily or permanently waves.

    V článku je ukázáno, že v excitabilním systému se mohou spontánně objevovat pacemakery, emitující dočasně vlny, pokud je systém vystaven dvojité perturbaci - přídavku aktivátoru.Bifurkační analýza kinetického modelu ukazuje, že nezbytným předpokladem provznik dočasných pacemakerů je parametrická blízkost homoclinické trajektorie ve fázovém prostoru systému.
