Original language description
Generally, a wave in an excitable reaction-diffusion medium is formed after a perturbation of a superthreshold magnitude is locally applied to the system in a stable stationary state. In this study we show that in the spatially one-dimensional model of an excitable medium the centers emitting waves can spontaneously emerge in the wake of the passing wave if the second perturbation is applied.
