    New chiral porphyrin-brucine gelator characterized by methods of circular dichroism

    Herein, we report the first use of chiral alkaloid brucine to synthesize novel porphyrin-brucine conjugate capable of acting as a gelator of methanol and acetonitrile at extremely low level of concn. The synthesis, characterization and spectral properties of gelator based on a novel structural motif, quaternized alkaloid conjugates, are described. Different spectroscopic methods (1H NMR spectroscopy, Raman and IR spectroscopy, and spectroscopy of electronic and vibrational CD) were used for characterization of the prepd. organogel. The aggregation of the gelator studied by UV-vis spectroscopy and electronic CD showed the formation of chiral J-aggregates in water and water-methanol (1:1) mixt. A new methodol. for the detn. of functional groups involvedin gel formation based on vibrational CD is presented.

    První použití chirálního alkaloidu brucinu k syntése nového porfyrin-brucin konjugátu použitelného jako gelátoru v methylalkoholu a v acetonitrilu v extrémně nízkých koncentracích. Syntéza, charakterizace a spektrální vlastnosti gelátoru s novým strukturním motivem (kvarternizované alkaloidy). Pro charakterizaci organogelu byly použity různé spektroskopické metody (1H NMR spektroskopie, Ramanova infračervená spektroskopie, elektronický a vibrační CD). Agregace gelátoru byla studována UV-VIS spektroskopií a elektronickým CD. Ukázala tvorbu chiralních J-agregatů ve vodě a vodě-methylalkohol (1:1). Je uvedena nová metodologie pro stanovení funkčních skupin spojených se gelovou formací založených na vibrační CD.
