MEASUREMENT OF EFFECTIVE DIFFUSIVITY IN CATALYST-COATED MONOLITH BY CHROMATOGRAPHIC METHOD

Result description

The effective diffusivity in the pores of catalytic monolith was studied in single pellet-string columns (SPSC) by chromatographic technique (carrier-gas: N2; tracer-gases: He, Ar). The column was packed with small monolith particles (slab geometry). Dispersion due to extra column effects was eliminated via convolution of responses for two column lengths. The measurements were done for both cordierite support and cordierite support with alumina based washcoat. The effective diffusion coefficients for two tracer-carrier pairs were evaluated by fitting column response (chromatographic) peaks in time domain. Mean transport parameters were evaluated for both types of porous particles. Obtained mean transport pore radii are in reasonable agreement with poresize distribution from mercury porosimetry.

MEASUREMENT OF EFFECTIVE DIFFUSIVITY IN CATALYST-COATED MONOLITH BY CHROMATOGRAPHIC METHOD

  • Czech description

Byly studovány efektivní difúzní koeficienty pomocí chromatografické metody v SPSC koloně (nosný plyn: N2; stopovací plyny: He, Ar).
