Price of water in industry steadily increases and water also represents an important environmental problem. Water for cooling and processing is an important utility i.e. a central service in a site. The pinch technology and the process integration are aproper tool for analysis of individual processes and the whole site. There are different sorts of pinches e.g. the process, utility and water pinch as well as the threshold problems
