    Complex dynamics of oxidation of thiosulphate by hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by cupric ions

    The oxidation of thiosulphate by hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by cupric ions in acidic solution of sulphuric acid (HPTCu reaction) is studied. The reaction exhibits large variety of nonlinear dynamical behaviour (oscillations, bistability and excitability). This reaction belongs to the group of so-called pH-oscillators, because of significant changes in the pH value in time. To explain such complex nonlinear behaviour, the mechanism of the reaction is needed. To improve existing mechanistic model1 more experimental date are needed. In this paper the experimental study of the HPTCu reaction is presented. It is known, that HPTCu reactions exhibits different types of oscillations. But no detailed study of oscillatory regimes has been published except for work of Orbán and Epstein2. Therefore the focus of this contribution is on oscillatory behaviour of the HPTCu reaction carried out in a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) at constant temperature.     Reakce peroxidu vodíku s thiosíranem v kyselém prostředí za přítomnosti mědi vykazuje velmi složité chování. Pokud je celá reakce prováděna v průtočném míchaném reaktoru za konstantní teploty, lze pozorovat různé dynamické režimy pouhým měřením hodnoty pH, která se v průběhu času výrazně mění. Cílem práce je analýza složítého dynamického chování této reakce.
