    Mathematical description of the interaction between bubble and stationary particle

  • Original language description

    Our project is focused on the interaction of a stationary particle and single rising bubble where the bubble diameter is smaller than the particle diameter. Actually, only the approach of the bubble to the particle surface and the subsequent collision isconsidered. The experimental data describing the bubble trajectory with calculated data from Sutherland model are compared. The Sutherland's imagination of the collision between bubble and particle was modified for the inverse situation, where the particle is bigger that air bubble. According to this model the trajectory of rising bubble was simulated. We found that the trajectory deviation caused by the presence of a stationary solid spherical particle is very small and it is observed only in the immediate vicinity of the particle surface. This conclusion is in a noticeable disagreement with the Sutherland's model and the explanation of this fact is given in the full text.

    Cílem projektu je rozšířit naše znalosti o hydrodynamických interakcích mezi bublinami a částicemi, ke kterým dochází ve flotačním procesu. Zaměřili jsme se na studium interakcí mezi stacionární kulovou pevnou částicí a isolovanou stoupající bublinou. Pro obrazovou analýzu dat byl využit software LUCIA. Byly získány informace o velikosti, rychlosti a trajektorii bublin, a o kolizních úhlech.
