    Computation of the interaction between bubble and stationary particle

    Our project is focused on the interaction of a stationary particle and single rising bubble where the bubble diameter is smaller than the particle diameter. Actually, only the approach of the bubble to the particle surface and the subsequent collision isconsidered. The experimental data describing the bubble trajectory with calculated data from Sutherland's model are compared. The basic experimental tool was a sophisticated and advanced visualization technique based on digital high-speed imaging. We found that the trajectory deviation caused by the presence of a stationary solid spherical particle is very small and it is observed only in the immediate vicinity of the particle surface. This conclusion is in a noticeable disagreement with the Sutherland's model and the explanation of this fact is given in the full text.

    Projekt byl zaměřen na popis interakcí stacionárních částic a stoupajících bublin, kde velikost bubliny je menší než velikost částice. Byl uvažován pouze pohyb bubliny do okamžiku kolize. Byly porovnány experimentální data a údaje vypočtené podle Sutherlandova modelu. Pro experimentální práci byla využita vysokorychlostní kamera. Bylo zjištěno, že odchýlení trajektorie bubliny velice malé a je možné ho pozorovat pouze v bezprostřední vzdálenosti od stacionární částice. Tento závěr je v rozporu se Sdutherlandovým modelem, vysvětlení je popsáno ve full textu.
