    AGGREGATION OF DICTYOSTELIUM DISCOIDEUM CELLS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF CAMP IN AGAR

    This paper is focused on research of atypical course of aggregation process under conditions when Dictyostelium discoideum cells in suspension are exposed to the long term effect of cyclic adenosine-3',5'-monophosphate (cAMP) present in their environment, namely, in the supporting nutrient-free agar. In natural conditions, cAMP is a signal molecule for amoebae Dictyostelium discoideum that warns the cells of lack of nutrients and of necessity to communicate with other cells in order to create a multicellular organism which allows cells to survive an unfavourable period. cAMP is produced periodically by the cells and spreads through the layer of starving cells in the form of excitation waves. cAMP added to the supporting agar leads to the external highconcentration of cAMP which blocks the synthesis of cellular cAMP in cells until the added cAMP is degraded by phosphodiesterase, produced also by cell.     Příspěvek je zaměřen na studium atypického agregačního chování buněk Dictyostelium discoideum ovlivněných přítomností cAMP v nosné vrstvě agarového gelu. Popsány jsou odlišnosti klasického agregačního vlnění u populace buněk ovlivněných a neovlivněných přídavkem cAMP. Popsána je také nově pozorovaná preagragační cAMP dependentní fronta.
