An experimental study of oscillatory dynamical behavior during hydrogen peroxide oxidation by thiosulphate catalyzed by cupric ions in acidic solution is presented. The reaction is carried out in a continuous stirred tank reactor at constant temperatureand dynamics are monitored by using a pH micro-electrode. Different dynamical regimes are observed as the flow rate is systematically varied. Simple periodic oscillations are observed as well as aperiodic and mixed mode oscillations. The measured time series are analyzed by the various methods phase space reconstruction revealing complex features of trajectories. In addition, maximal Lyapunov exponents computed for some of the aperiodic regimes confirm the assumed deterministic dynamics.

Czech description
Oxidace thiosíranu peroxide vodíku v podmínkách průtočného míchaného reaktoru vykazuje výrazné změny pH v čase. Díky této vlastnosti se reakce řadí do skupiny tzv. pH oscilátorů. Vedle periodického chování jsou pozorovaný i komplexní aperiodické oscilace.
