    Modelling of NOx reduction selectivity in an automotive catalytic converter

  • Original language description

    To fulfill future emission standards for automobiles with diesel engines, combined aftertreatment systems consisting of different catalyst technologies and particulate filters are necessary. For design and optimisation of the resulting systems of considerable complexity, a purely experimental approach is time and money consuming. Therefore, effective simulation models for different catalyst technologies are to be developed and integrated into a common simulation environment. Key issues are robustness and scalability of the models as the applications range from passenger cars to heavyduty vehicles. Furthermore, reasonable computation times are demanded for routine use with common desktop computers. The contribution focuses on the development and validation of such a model for NOx storage and reduction catalyst. Reaction kinetic parameters are evaluated from a series of laboratory experiments examining transient behaviour of an industrial NOx storage and reduction catalyst. The model is

    Příspěvek se zaměřuje na vývoj a ověření celkového reakčně-kinetického modelu pro katalysátor s ukládáním a redukcí NOx. Rychlostní parametry reakcí jsou vyhodnoceny z laboratorních měření zkoumajících dynamické chování vzorku průmyslového katalysátoru,zaměřených na konversi a selektivitu redukce NOx. Model je pak ověřen na datech z jízdního cyklu osobního automobilu.
