Influence of fine solids on CO2 absorption mechanism
Original language description
The mass transfer between gas and liquid is often studied without particular regards on undelaying mechanism. Influence of different species is ususally defined through their change of mass transfer coefficient compared to a base solution, typicaly distilled water. Addition of solid particles is reported to enhance the mass transfer coefficient, which is interpreted through shuttle mechanism or increased turbulence in the interface reagion. Recently, Kaya and Schumpe published opinion that the enhancement is due to trace surfactants adsorption. This theory was previously confirmed by comparison of oxygen and hydrogen mass transfer coefficient on flat gas-liquid surface. This finding suggests the reference base solution behaviour is distorted and so arethe interpretations of the mechanism. In this contribution, the mass transfer between gas and liquid is studied for CO2 absorption with the aim to find further confirmation of previously reported findings. To achieve the aim, a technique
