Influence of PET flakes quality on PET recycling process

During the PET recycling proccess, part of the regranulated PET is used for the production of new PET bottles. PET bottles are firstly shredded in the knife mill. The mixture of PET, PP, PE is then separated in a special flotator working on the basis ofsink-float method. Owing to some technological conditions and processes the percentage whack of unseparated PET after separation remains significant and the efficiency of the whole recycling process decreases. Here, very important process is shredding PET bottles and quality of shredding. The aim of this project was to analyze the influence of shredder shafts wastage on PET flakes quality. The size distribution and damage ratio of shredded PET flakes was studied in this project using image analysis.

Projekt se zabývá kvalitou technologického procesu pře recyklaci PET lahví. Lahve jsou před separací složek a regranulací vždy drceny v nožových mlýnech. Práce se zabývá vlivem kvality nožů na velikost a opotřebení PET částic. Pro toto stanovení byla použita obrazová analýza.
