Application of Laplace Transform to Diffusion Equations
Original language description
In this work was derived a model of forced diffusion for the determination of transport properties of gases through polymeric membranes by the method of integral transform, in particular Laplace transform, with the aim to obtain the relation for the concentration profile. In simple situation, model of forced diffusion can be described enough by 2nd Fick's law, which was solved at given initial and boundary conditions corresponding with the experiment. This paper is focused on the detail explanation of application of Laplace transform to diffusion equations. The results are presented in the form of concentration profile and diffusion curve for the permeation of carbon dioxide through low density polyethylene membrane.
