Original language description
The article summarizes findings obtained by experimental study of dynamics of the glucose ? glucose oxidase ? ferricyanide enzymatic reaction in the presence of sodium hydroxide in a continuous-flow stirred tank reactor and in a batch reactor. This reaction provides an interesting nonlinear dynamic behaviour (bistability, excitability). Due to presence of the enzyme glucose oxidase the reaction serves as a model of certain functions of living systems. The reaction exhibits pH-variations of steady statein dependence on a selected inlet parameter. The main parameters are the ratio of concentration of sodium hydroxide and ferricyanide and the volumetric flow rate (resp. reciprocal residence time).
