The article summarizes findings obtained by experimental study of dynamics of the glucose ? glucose oxidase ? ferricyanide ? sodium hydroxide biomimetic reaction in continuous-flow stirred tank reactor and in the batch. This reaction includes relativelysimple enzymatic reaction provides interesting nonlinear dynamic behaviour (bistability, excitability, oscillation). Due to presence of enzyme, the reaction serves as a model of certain function of the living systems. The reaction exhibits pH-changes independence on a selected inlet parameter. The main parameters are the ratio of concentration of sodium hydroxide and ferricyanide and the volumetric flow rate (reciprocal residence time). This reaction system was chosen on the basis of literature search.Biomimetic reactions such as that studied here are a basis of biomimetic devices that use pH-responsible polymer expansion and contraction for drug delivery.
