Analysis of the reaction mechanism within the troposphere
Original language description
Both simplified and more realistic models of tropospheric photochemistry exhibit nonlinear dynamics. We report results of a stoichiometric network analysis for a photochemical reaction mechanism within the troposphere. The SNA decomposes the entire chemical network into irreducible elementary subnetworks. The positive and negative feedback loops causing nonlinear behaviour can be easily found by inspection of the elementary subnetworks. We use these results to identify possible sources of oscillatory instabilities in the tropospheric reaction mechanism.
