Original language description
The paper describes a possible way of modelling a column used for degassing of polyolefins exiting the fluid reactor. The model divides the column into layers and on each layer uses the characterization of the material based upon gravimetric experiment.The gravimetric degassing experiment is fitted by bi-disperse model which characterizes the polymer by assuming large and small particles. The diffusion of solvent inside these particles is modeled by finite volume method. The model predicts the degassing characteristics, the rate of degassing through the column and degree of degassing on output of the vessel.
