Original language description
This contribution studies the sorption of n-pentane in polystyrene (PS), which is an industrially important process, as n-pentane is used in the foaming of PS. The contribution deals with both sorption equilibria and dynamics (diffusion). The different mechanisms of diffusion are discussed and it is demonstrated how the effect of temperature and pressure determines which of these mechanisms is dominant.
