The numerical results of the bubble size distribution and global gas hold-up are confronted with experimental data. The breakup model by Luo is shown to be strongly dependent on the discretization of the continuous size range of the bubble population. For correct gas hold-up prediction turbulent drag correction proved to be necessary.
