Study of the three-phase contact expansion during the bubble adhesion on a solid surface in pure water
Original language description
The adhesion process consists of three steps. Three-phase contact (TPC) line expansion (the last one) is investigated in this work. The experiments are realized in a special measuring equipment where a single bubble with a diameter less than 1 mm is generated at the top of the thin capillary, then rises through the liquid medium and interacts with a solid particle. Described process is recorded using high-speed digital camera for the time and every image is then evaluated using the image analysis software. The molecular-kinetic model is used for the description of the TPC expansion in this project. It expresses the dependence of the TPC radius in time and uses the dynamic and the equilibrium contact angles for its evaluation. Two adjustable parametersin this model have to be found. When the experimental and calculated data are compared, good agreement appears - primarily for second slow phase of the TPC expansion.
