Mathematical modeling of electrochemical cell in microfluidic chips
Original language description
We introduce a mathematical model of one electron transfer (metal A/cation A+ and ferrocyanide/ferricyanide) in a microfluidic electrochemical cell. This cell is characterized by the absence of well stirred bulk and an undefined reference value of electric potential. First, we will introduce mathematical description of reaction-transport processes in this cell with the use of an alternative kinetic scheme. The scheme allows for the simulation of electrochemical reactions far from the thermodynamic equilibrium. Obtained current-voltage characteristics will be discussed. Further, we show the abilities of our model to simulate cyclic voltammetry measurement.
