Mass transfer measurement in the ejector by new steady-state method using the chemical removal of oxygen
Original language description
Ejector with volumetric mass transfer coefficients (kLa) about 10 s-1 is interesting alternative for gas-liquid operation. However, because reliable data describing the mass transfer in ejector are missing, design of ejector for the mass transfer operations is difficult. Detailed investigation of mass transfer in ejector is limited by methods of determination kLa. Suitable method which can be applied for mass transfer measurement in ejector is steady-state physical absorption of oxygen, but this methodrequires sophisticated apparatus and that is not convenient for serial experiments. Chemical removal of oxygen seems like a promising alternative. Chemical method is relatively simple in terms of required additional equipment. Method of chemical removalof oxygen was tested in ejector loop. Verification of this method was done by comparison of values kLa obtained by oxygen scavenging method with values of kLa obtained by method of physical desorption when the desorption column was used f
