Multifunction Process Measurement and Control Teaching System
Original language description
The chapter describes the laboratory training station Armfield PCT (Process Control Technology), which is a multifunctional system designed to teaching operational measurement and control. The station is computer-controlled and may be utilised for teaching the basic principles of measurement and control of continuous and batch processes. The system can be easily reconfigured to monitor the temperature, pressure, flow-rate or level and the basic module may be extended with additional devices to measure and control the chemical composition of medium. The teaching software makes it possible to record the course of measured and controlled variables in real time, students are able to change the parameters of control and analyse progress of the studied process for various system configuration. The station provides students with the advantage they can work with real models of controlled systems of various physical character, which strengthen their complex approach to the solution to problems of operational measurement and control.
