    Envelope Time as Measure of Control Quality

    The combination of MIMO system and its controller could form a non-linear dynamic system. Assuming steady state of this system as locally stable, the novel criterion of stable control design was developed. The criterion is motivated by Lyapunov criterion of local stability. It is suitable both for linear and non-linear system tuning. Mahalanobis distance between the current state and steady one was used as Lyapunov function with an exponential upper bound. The novel criterion is based on this exponential envelope and its intersection with control tolerance. The case study is presented and the results are discussed.
